My Tatting
Welcome to my tatting pages!
My friends call me Dixie, and I am a tat-a-holic. It's official now. I am NATA #611!!
I love tatting, everything about tatting. I even wake up at night
after dreaming that I was tatting, expecting to find a shuttle in my hand!
I learned to shuttle tat when I was about 10 years old.
My grandmother (who is now 93) tried to teach each of her
children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to tat.
So far, I am the only one who has learned and kept at it.
I have been tatting for close to 20 years.
At first, I could only make the rings. I tried unsuccessfully to join ring
after ring. I gave up trying and put the tatting away for several years.
I finally determined that tatting was not going to tie me in knots!
I had to replace my shuttle and I began tatting. I somehow
managed to join my rings and from there I have moved on to
double tatting, making edging for pillowcases, making doilies,
as well as just tatting stars and other designs.
On my pages, you will find pictures of what I am working on, what I have
completed, and links to other tat sites. If any of the links do not work,
please let me know. I think it's important that we have working links
to connect us to other tatters. Feel free to email me with questions
